July Recap & What's to Come
I swear I just wrote the June version of this post but alas, here we are again. Here's what happened in my world and on the site in July and what I have in mind for August.
Well, that was fast.
Although I think I feel that way every month of the year. Some days tend to stretch on but as a collective whole I can’t help but to sometimes feel the urge to scream to the world, “SLOW DOWN!”
This also acts as my reminder to live. To spend as much of my time doing things I enjoy and to keep my life on a path that I find exciting. It feels like there’s little time to waste. Some days that’s painting on our balcony, others that’s pushing myself on a long hike, and more often than not, it’s nurturing A Way Abroad and my other site, Mamma Mia Indeed.

That sometimes means that I forget to take a rest day or 2 and skip over exploring more of the city we call home and instead look to new horizons in places I haven’t yet been.
I’m still working on the balance and assume it might always be an internal push and pull. But for now, I do like where I’ve found myself starting off the big 35.
Anways, this month we stayed firmly in Italy, except for a short day trip to a dog beach in Croatia (we live close enough to the border that it was just about an hour drive). I enjoyed a solo trip to Lake Garda and a trip with my husband to a new area of Emilia Romagna. We planned that trip for the Wet Leg concert but tried to keep the spirits high after that was cancelled at the last minute.
New on the Site
On the site, a handful of new authors from around the world shared a peek into their lives abroad. If you’re still searching for your next home, don’t miss out on:
What’s Ahead
I’ve been doing some forward thinking about August and am planning to make it a month about visas.
With our residency permits officially expired in Italy and now facing the in-between limbo time until they get renewed (don’t worry, we’re legal, just means a few things like we can’t move to a new city or venture into the EU), I guess visas are on my mind.
I don’t have it perfectly ironed out but was thinking something like:
General look into visas, when/why you need one, and passport priviledge
Most common visa types you can consider
The international woes of visas
If there’s anything particular about visas you’d want me to cover, drop a comment or use our community chat!

Oooh... I didn't realize dog beaches were a thing. Sounds like (a very cute) heaven!
